THE RCM TEAM
Much like the start of every good joke you’ve ever heard, Recovered Construction Materials was indeed founded back in 2018 by an Englishman and an Irishman — Neil McCoy and Philip Burch.
Co-owners Neil McCoy and Philip Birch combine decades of recycling industry experience in both the UK and US markets with their passions for business. They’ve created a company that both supports environmental sustainability and offers economic efficiency.
Neil came to America in 1993 from a small village in Northern Ireland to pursue a career in the heavy crushing and screening industry. He sold one product line for seven years before realizing the need to expand in his territory.
Neil started Crusher Works in 2000, selling a vast array of heavy-duty crushing equipment to serve the needs of multiple customers. After meeting Phillip Birch in 2017, Neil decided it was time to put his 25+ years of product knowledge to work with Phil’s seven years of experience to create Recovered Construction Materials.

Co-founder of Recovered Construction Materials, Phil moved to Birmingham, Alabama in May 2018. Following the completion of his law degree in 2010, Phil moved into the recycling industry to oversee the development of Enterprise Skip Hire, located in Buckinghamshire, England. He later co-founded its sister company, Enterprise Waste Management.
After seven successful years specializing in the recycling of construction and demolition waste, inert waste, and municipal waste, Philip decided it was time for a new challenge in Birmingham.

Jack is the veteran of the Recovered Construction Materials team. He came to RCM with 10 years of experience in the landscape supply industry, where he ran equipment, processed materials, and handled customer relations.
As our site supervisor, he oversees all of our machine operations, product quality control, customer assistance, and much, much more. Quite simply, when it comes to matters involving RCM — what Jack doesn’t know, isn’t worth knowing.

Meet Michelle! She’s sometimes referred to as an “office lady,” but Michelle is so much more to the Recovered Construction Materials team.
Originally from Kentucky, and now residing in Bessemer, Alabama, Michelle previously worked as Director of Operations for a landscaping company. She now combines that knowledge with her accounts background to make the perfect office manager for RCM. Be sure to say “hey!” to her next time you visit!

Donald is from Trussville, Alabama. Prior to joining the Recovered Construction Materials team, Donald owned DTR Trucking for 30 years.
Donald began working for RCM for a change of scenery, and combines his mechanical knowledge and many years of heavy equipment experience to round out our ever-growing RCM team.
Donald can even be seen hauling material in his dump truck from time to time, too.

Brandon Martin, Machine Operator
Brandon lives in Birmingham, Alabama, but is originally from Canada. Since arriving in Birmingham over 10 years ago, he has spent his time building motorcycles and muscle cars — something Brandon also enjoys doing in his spare time.
Brandon's enthusiastic and energetic approach make him a great fit for the team, and we look forward to seeing what the future holds for him.
